Default Late shift into forward

My outdrive shifts into forward at just before the throttle begins to come in.
How do I make it shift into gear a little sooner so it doesn't take off as soon as it goes into gear?

So if the the cables are within spec, Is there a throttle adjustment to come in later?

I'd say do the cable adjustment first. They stretch over time. Here's another pic

Using the picture of the cable's adjustment, I was able to get the results I was looking for.

Again Mikeyt, thanks for your help....

Does the shift interrupt circuit get out of adjustment when you adjust the shift cables?
