Default Shabah Z212 Gas Tank

I am new to this group and unable to find this question in a previous thread.

Does anyone know how the gas tank is removed from a 94 Shabah Z212? I can access the hatch under the rear seat and see the fuel sender unit and hose connections, but before removing, or cutting, the carpet I wish to know if the floor has to be cut to access the entire gas tank?

In addition, does anyone know where a new 40 gallon gas tank can be purchased? There is a label on it that lists Kracor Model 6-7052. I can find where Kracor was purchased by Yahama, but having no luck in getting any information.

Thanks and Regards;
Scott

    Have a look at this thread cuz that's what you are in for. Finding a matching fuel tank for a 25+ yr old boat will be difficult. Best you will likely be able to do is find one that fits.

    I was able to remove the gas tank easier than thought. I removed the seats and the port side panel to access the carpet. This was the most difficult. Then I was able to peel the carpet back to access the plywood floor. The plywood floor is layed out in sections and fastened with s/s flat head screws. No cutting required. Fortunately there is 1 piece of plywood covering the gas tank section. Once this was removed, there are 4 braces, 1 each corner. Remove these braces, and hoses, etc. and the 40 gallon tank will lift right out.
    Because this is a plastic tank, and not aluminum, I was able to thoroughly clean the tank and did not have to replace it.
    Thank you...
