Sorry for the ramble but trying to get this all down while it's still fresh in my mind.....

During the process of pulling the boat Sunday evening; I kicked on the bilge switch and to my surprise it (switch or bilge) wasn't working. The red light on the switch didn't light up, nor did the bilge kick on. This was new to me. Typically when I pull the boat (and other times on the water after swimmers get in) I kick on the switch for a few seconds to expel any built up water. It has worked every single time until Sunday.

After getting things picked up/put away, I reached down and lifted the float switch. The pump kicked on and I felt better knowing things were working from that aspect.

Figuring the issue had to be in the switch area; I laid down and started poking around under the dash. I traced the brown wire coming from the back of the boat (bilge wire) to the switch. All looked well. The second wire running from the switch to the fuse block looked a little suspect. It was spliced in the middle with one of those blue snap crimp deals. I inspected that part a little closer and determined the splice seemed to be fine although, I'll probably redo that myself with something a little more robust.

Following the rest of the run to the fuse block, the connection on the fuse block itself seemed to be loose and not really tight. There was some play in the connection and after pushing it back into place the switch/pump kicked on. By this time it was dark and I needed to call it a night. I'm planning on getting back under there this week to see if there is a screw on the block I can tighten to keep that connection from getting loose again. Has anyone had a similar issue?

Something interesting about this fuse block; it appears to be a secondary block as I can see what I consider the primary just a short distance away. Does that seem right? The "primary" block is larger and has a nice plastic cover over it. This "secondary" block it smaller and doesn't seem to have much of anything connected to it, other than the bilge. Has anyone seen this before?

Got off work and took a better look at things. The original terminal post was very loose; it seems to move around far too much. Moving it around with the switch on; you can hear the bilge cutting in and out.

I moved it over to the next open spot and it was much firmer so I think this issue is resolved.

Seeing the full picture; what does everyone make of the other fuse block? Does everyone have 2 of these under their dash too?

I thought about moving the bilge to that block but it takes a different type connection and I didn't want to bust out all my wiring gear.

I've got a 1998 246 Talari, and I have 2 fuse blocks (lacking the nice plastic cover though).
