Default 5.7 Bravo 3 Vs. 7.4 Bravo 1 Talari

Hello,

Heavily looking for mid nineties Talari 22' or 24'. Currently own a Rinker 236 with 7.4 Bravo 1 drive and am gun shy about losing the power. I found a 22' with 5.7 Bravo 3 that looks really nice. I understand the Bravo 3 will compensate for some of the hole shot power difference but looking for opinions on the two different set ups. Ultimately I would like to find the 7.4 Bravo 3 but not holding my breath. Usually have 4-6 people on board and most concerned with time to get on plane vs. top speed.

The B3 will be an improvement with holeshot. You can even re-prop it with a 3/4 blade combo which is supposed to be the ultimate setup for both holeshot and efficiency. However even in the stock configuration, where you'll really notice the big difference with a B1 & B3 drive is maneuverability, especially at low speeds (think docking/loading on trailer).

The 350 with the B3 would be a good combo, depending on what you spend the majority of your time doing on the water. The 7.4L will obviously give you a bit more torque and grunt for watersports and things like that, but if you're spending the majority of your time cruising on plane, the 350 will be a bit more wallet-friendly at the fuel dock...

Are you able to test drive the 22' with the 350 and b-3?
