Default New 7.4 MPI manifolds

Hello folks,
Im looking for some ideas for replacing my manifolds on my 7.4 MPI. I was really trying to go with aluminum for the weight savings. GLM has a pretty nice setup BUT they do not have any systems in aluminum available till June... I have found them for 714$ shipped but like I say they are not available till June. I suppose I could do cast iron but Id prefer aluminum. What other brands out there do manifolds with some performance gain? Multiple google searches are not really helping me out...

My current manifolds are stock. They show some rust and leak onto the rear spark plugs on port and starboard. Inevitably causing more problems.

Just curious what the weight savings are for aluminum vs cast? And what are the claimed performance increases?

I mean, if you're only shedding like 50lbs for $714 personally, I'd just replace with OEM and save the rest of the $$ for gas and frosty beverages while anchored or docked.

The irons are right around 500$ shipped. And for the weight I've managed to talk some sense into myself over the weekend. Is the weight savings worth 2-300$... not really. I'll put that to good use else where.

    Good thinking buddy!

I always find it amusing the lengths some people will go to gain extra HP. Especially when it comes to expensive aftermarket add-ons. I've always heard you need 10 HP to get an extra 1 MPH in a boat. I'll take an extra hour and enjoy the ride rather than the empty pockets!
