Default Engine Cutting Out

Took her out for the first time yesterday, she starts off good but after about a minute of crusing she starts cutting out. If you idle for a minute it will take out again and cut out after a minute. It does this over and over. I do not know much about the boat from the previous owner. It is a 93 Diablo with a 4.6XL merc.
Is there a fuel filter in the fuel tank? Is there and way to access the fuel tank?

One other problem, when I turn on the key to listen to the stero the buzzer keeps going off.

Could be any number of things: Fuel, fuel filter (I don't know exactly where that's located, sorry), fuel pump, carburetor, ignition...

Not in the tank, that I know of, but, from my reading here, there is an in-line filter.

The key has four positions: off, acc, run, start (momentary). Sounds like you're trying to play the stereo with the key in run. There's an alarm that monitors oil pressure, engine overtemp and low drive lube. If you have the key in run and the engine's not running, the alarm circuit is going to sense no oil pressure and sound off.

Solution: Put the key in the acc position to play the stereo.

Started her up in the drive way and ran it for about 20 minutes. Looking down in the carb there was water drops on the flaps in the carb. Looks like there may be some water in the gas. I am going to pull the gas separtor tomorrow and check for water. Can I drain the filter clean out and reuse?
Also, thaks for telling me about the 4 position switch.
