Have a 2000 Shabah 202 with a 5.0 Mercruiser, my problem, taking it out of forward it is still in gear past the neutral. Pull the lever back toward reverse a bit and it finds neutral. It started this after we had the lower unit serviced, could the mechanics have changed the linkage? Is this a quick fix?

I would take it back to the marina or at least call them and see if they can come and service it correctly. They either put something back together wrong or misadjusted it. if it worked correctly before they worked on it, then it's their problem to make it right

It was an adjustment problem which the Marina mechanic had fixed in a few minutes, No charge. Now a happy boater again.
