Agree with other members on this one! I bought a Mariah last year. It wasn't as bad as you say yours is, but I knew it was heading south due to a crappy pervious owner. I didn't know the original Mariah was out of business when I bought my boat and adter finding this site I couldn't care less. Yes it makes a few things hard to fix or replace, BUT members on here have found a way to get it done! Even rebuilding and reprinting the dash pieces! I bought my boat because, next to all the other turds... look out Mikey here it comes... like Bayliners and others with rotted floors and standard looks, the Mariah was absolutely awesome! It felt like I was buying a boat way above my class.... And owning one and belonging to this owners club makes me feel special, and that my Mariah is special. It's not a $100k wake boat but my family loves it and it's way more boat than I'd ever thought I'd find
in the middle of summer for less than $5k.
All that being said, you bough a very well built boat. They used the best vinyl and you'll be surprised what magic erasers will do! If the vinyl is not torn, clean it and use it till it does! If you want to redo the vinyl pm me and I'll give you detail on similar vinyl to what was used originally.
I am in the process of wet sanding, compounding, polishing and waxing the hull. It looks like new! (more or less...) If yours is that bad, West Marine sells paint for boats, it's for gelcoats but it's still going to look like paint not gelcoat. However I have seen some pretty friggin' cool paint jobs on boats. One guy has a flame job that looks really good, so it can be done. I do think a wrap might be pretty awesome too! Think of those possibilities!!
You obviously aren't afraid of hard work, you bought the boat and are doing it yourself! It gets discouraging and overwhelming at times, I know, I'm there with you right now! Just stay at it and take little pieces at a time. Stay encouraged, when you are done you will have a very well built and very nice boat! Welcome to the family!
Mike, the guy that does stickers can be found on ebay, that's how I got a hold of him. It will take a while. It took about 2-3 weeks for me to contact him and figure out if he had my 99 decals or not. Guess what... HE did!! and the Mariah logos and shield too!! Send him a message on ebay and he will get back to you.
Good luck and keep us posted with lots of pictures!! And you made a good choice on buying a Mariah!

Don't worry the guy that owned mine before beat the he'll out of thr bottom of mine and the shop that tried to fix it did a crappy job. I now get to redo most of their work with a lot of sanding and new patch work done correctly. I'll never be happy with the bottom but oh well. If it doesn't leak, I'm good. I can't see it in the water anyway... Lol.

I know what you mean. The previous owner of mine use to beach the boat in sandy stuff. Well, that is basically like sand paper! Have not fixed it. Its just superficial scratches. Figured I could put the "keel guard" on if I wanted a quick fix...

I think the guy beached mine on rocks while tied up to a wall of white bumpers.. it was covered with scratches the decals are all dug up and there were so many white bumper marks I cleaned them off with paint thinner!! Replacing the graphics, buffing and doing what touch up I can this year. Will do more next year. Nothing a bit of hard work can't fix. And it's a original Mariah so its worth it!!
