The Z302 models are very cool. The cuddy and bowrider arrangement is so practical, especially for families with children.
The quick story on Mariah is they made great quality boats which are "equipped like no other boat in the world". They are truly one of a kind boats that you'll have a hard time finding another boat to compare them to. They were made in Benton Illinois up until May of 2001, when the owner closed the factory due to financial reasons. It was costing him up to $75k a week of his own pocket to keep the business running, and with boat sales at record lows with all manufacturers, they closed their doors for good. The molds were sold to two different manufacturers, 25ft & up molds were sold to Challenger Powerboats and are marketed under the "FPS Family Performance Series" and the 18-25ft molds were sold to Sea Fox Marine, who has since purchased the trademark, and have redesigned the boats to be a more "affordable" boat.
$34k is a little on the higher side of the average price of them, but still not terrible. If you can supply more details like the engine size, and engine hours, that'll help us all make a more accurate judgement if it's a good deal or not. If you can post photos, or send us a link to it on the web, that'd be even better!
Regardless, you won't regret your decision by going with Mariah. We've got a great group of people here willing to answer any questions, and we can help you solve any issues that may come up.
