Hello to all as I have just recently signed up to the club.
I have never owned a boat before and I am currently in the market for purchasing one.

My son and I have researched the numerous variety of boats available and have come to the conclusion that the Mariah is a top end boat that would provide us with the performance and luxury we are looking for.

Currently we are looking at a 1996 Shaba and a 1995 Talari.

Both are 18 ft. open bow

Even though we have done our research we appreciate comments on what boat is preferrable for both performance as well functionality.

I have an 1996 - 18' Shabah and i've only seen pics of the 95 Talari's but if both boats are the same size and run the same motor / outdrive and you've put them both out in the water for a test run and they are similar, then i would go with whichever boat has been maintained better as well as your personal preference on looks/layout. Both are typical of the original Mariah brand.

We just returned from six days at the lake with our 95 Talari - have owned the boat since 2002 and know it pretty well. What else do you know about the boats you are looking at? Any specific questions?
