Default New boat owner

Hi everyone,

I am a new owner of a 1989 Z221 and I have a problem that maybe someone can help me with before I go to the shop. I took it out this weekend and it runs perfect but I left it tied to my pier overnight and it took in a lot of water. Am I doing something wrong.? Am I missing a part.? Not too familiar with it yet...what is causing the water to come in when the motor is off? Would appreciate any help...thanks!!
