I just recently purchased a 2003 SX8 with the 3.0L engine. I've been told that the boat should have an audio warning system that alerts you of low fluid levels. I also was informed that this warning should sound when you turn the key to the on position. I do not hear anything when i turn the key on, and I am just trying to confirm that this model does come equipped with this feature.

Assuming Mercruiser Alpha outdrive and possibly quicksilver 3000 shifter... Yes it should make a beep when battery is on and ignition is turned on prior to starting. It is possible the little speaker is disconnected intentionally or accidentally or it is broken.

My 99 Z258 7.4 Mpi Bravo 3 sometimes will give the 3 beeps at ignition on and sometimes won't. I always hear the fuel pump come on though. It did work twice when I had a drive oil leak and once when my temp rose from a bad raw water pump impeller.
