I have a 1998 Z242 shabah. i'm having problems with starting the engine.. It has a new alternator, a new starter and new batteries. When i turn the key nothing happens. If i turn the key on and off 5 or 6 times it will kick in. Could it be an ignition problem??? Any thoughts

When you say nothing happens do you mean it does not crank or do you mean it will not start? Assuming it won't crank, have you done any troubleshooting on the components in between the key and the starter? Power @ ignition switch, neutral safety switch, slave solenoid?

I had starting issues for a month and changed everything I could. In the end it was the ground connectors. Change the connectors and clean the mounting points. Also have to make sure the mating surface from the starter to the engine block is clean and bolts tight.
