Default Need some screwing advice.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to repair the hinges that hinge the back seat in a Talari 201? The screws have come loose and someone has put larger screws in their place, but they have loosened, also. I would like to repair this somehow, so that it looks right. I don't just want to move the position of the hinge, because that would leave an ugly spot in the carpet on both the floor and the seat. I can't get to the under side, to put nuts on the screws. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Pull back the carpet.
Drill out the holes a bit.
Fill the holes with some fibreglass resin, then when hard pilot drill and re-fix the screws

I've done the same with Gorilla Glue. The screws will break before they come out though. Good an bad I suppose

how do you keep the resin in the hole? I need to fix a few on mine as well. I thought about using well nuts... I good non permanent (see gorilla glue above...) solution is best.

If you can get under the hole then just plain old duck tape will do the job. if not the try stuffing the hole with a roll of paper. push it into the hole deep enough to give you a good depth to fill.
(be prepared to do some swearing each time you push it too far! )

When I did a couple of my snaps that had come lose, I put masking tape over the top and bottom of the hole. I then used a counter sink bit through the top tape to open up the hole to a cone shape. this way the hole and the tape were the same size if you see what I mean...
Filled the hole and then removed the masking tape, No mess

As for the products you mentioned? sorry but I have no knowledge of them
