Hi Chaps

I have read through the search results for Vinyl on here, and not found quite what I am looking for.

I am getting more and more cracks appearing in all the vinyl - latest I have noticed that the parallel stitching on the drivers seat seems to have split through the vinyl.

I have looked at Fibrenew - but they don't seem to operate in the UK, and I would be a little concerned about trying to take the 180 over the atlantic...

I saw that someone recommended Marine Goop - struggling to find it in the UK, and not really sure how I would use it to fix the splits either.

I will be putting in an order for some 303 that everyone seems to love, but am I right in thinking that once it all starts to go (and bits of it feel crackly - like old knicker elastic), its probably getting to end of life - or can it be saved?

I think that once it starts to get to the level you mention, the vinyl is reaching the end of its life. There are 'bandaid' solutions as you've seen but they'll all come apart sooner or later. Sometimes its just best to bite the bullet & open up the wallet.

I have to agree with Mike and would recommend replacing the vinyl. You don't have to go all out and replace everything, but certainly the places where it's really bad. For us it's the sundeck and bench seat along the back as those are very high traffic areas. The advantage here is that if you maintain the new vinyl, it should last a long time and you won't have to deal with new tears and rips that you're trying to patch every year.

We're replacing the vinyl on the sundeck and bench set and i'll post pictures once we get it completed.
