I have a 1996 Z 255 Shabah w/ 7.4 L Mercrusier, Bravo Three. When I try to start the engine, I get clicks. After a few tries, it will start. I have replace the ignition switch, brand new starter, new battery & a new starter relay solenoid. Why do I keep getting this same result, click, click, click, click, then fire up. Any ideas would be helpful. All terminals are cleaned, good ground, connections are good.

I realize you have a new starter and starter solenoid, and have checked the wiring, but it sounds like it's either the starter solenoid, the connection from the battery to the starter solenoid, the connection from the starter solenoid to the starter, or the starter motor.

Rather than just replacing parts, shotgun-style, would advise you actually trouble-shoot the problem to identify the fault. If you wish to do that, I can give you direction.
