    Hi Andyc,

The forum has a pretty good "search" function (In the Blue Bar near the top of the page), you can find most of what has been already discussed on all the sub-forums. Try the "Advanced Search" to zero in on your topic (click here).

In the mean time, check out this thread (click here), it covers several solutions to hull cleaning.

    Good luck,
    WetWilly

If you have a Walmart near, go there and get Hull Cleaner. It is in a blue bottle and cost under $10.00. It will cover your boat twice. You spray on and rinse off. It takes all the stains completely off instantly! Great stuff. If you don't have a Walmart go to your boating supply store and ask for hull cleaner. Trying to scrape the stain off will do damage before it cleans off.

Hi John Frazee,Thanks for the advice,we dont have Walmart here in Scotland, they call themself ASDA here but they only supply household goods, I have read earlier threads and the one that comes up is Starbrite, I have some on order Hopefully I will have it for the weekend and I will let you know how it works.

Just a wee update Starbrite hull cleaner does exactly what it says on the tin.
Wipe it on with a sponge or spray(I used a spray bottle) leave for 2 mins and wash off with plenty of water all the brown marks amd water lines gone SUPERB.
I would recommend that you do not do this in a garage as it is quite strong and you need plenty of air about you...

    Default fuel/oil scumline on hull

I use starbrite a few times a season to very easily remove algae/green/brown hull staining. however, its the end of hte season and is a faint visible black line, presumably from oil/fuel exhaust on the surface around the dock at times.

starbrite doesnt affect this. anyone know of something that works well to remove this fuel stain??
