I will hopefully be picking up my Mariah tomorrow. My question is, will a nice boat cover be okay to protect my boat??? I was thinking today that if anything, I might build a shed out of PVC pipe to add to the protection of the boat. I know they make covers thses days to protect from the UV rays and such... but being from Az I hope thats enough. Maybe plant a big shady tree next to it?? Or just tear out the kitchen and park it inside the house... lol!!! Any advice would help! Thanks!

The Arizona sun can be brutal on the exterior and the interior too! I would advise using any additional covering like the shed idea to further isolate your Mariah from the UV and heat.

Of course, if you can get it into the house with the airconditioning......

Planting a 'big shady tree' seems like a good idea but then again.......y'all will have to deal with the bird poop!

I'd say...expand the outhouse to make it a drive-in and park her there.

I live in California where the summer sun is also brutal. I found that the boat cover worked ok, but when the sun got low in the sky it would shine on the stern drive and it began to fade the paint. The best thing is to park your baby indoors but cost is always a factor. I would suggest (and I’m sure you know) that you need to keep the PVC structure well ventilated so it doesn’t become a greenhouse.

I just use a cockpit cover in FL.....its stops the bugs and rain from getting in. It was custom made and cost $800......but its well worth it.
