Default Back up cameras

I'm looking to purchase a backup camera for my truck. Looking on the cheaper side with a license bracket mounted camera. Wondering if anybody has a setup that could give advice. I can get a rear view mirror that has the video screen embedded and turns on when vehicle goes in reverse that looks pretty slick.

I don't have one yet but will be soon. Most I've asked have pointed me to several on amazon in the 20-50 dollar range. I'll see if I can find a couple they recommended to me.

I have an edge CTS I'm going to use as a monitor for it.

I have one, from Walmart. I paid about $89 for it about 7 or 8 years ago. Worked ok for a cheap (semi) wireless camera. The camera's "wireless", but there's power taps needed for the camera, and the small 2" monitor. Hasn't been working for the past few days, maybe a wire worked loose, or maybe just the freezing cold...

Someday I plan to go to a full wired system and a new stereo or a mirror that the camera can integrate with...

The wireless system is appealing but how long before the transmitters bite the dust? Especially driving winters in Illinois.

I just finished installing a cheap (Amazon) back up camera on my truck. It should work quite well in helping me line up the trailer hitch. My monitor has a dual input and has the ability to add another camera if the need arises.

It seems that many drivers who tow trailers have taken to adding a camera at the rear of the trailer, allowing the driver to see behind them, tailgaters, etc. I'm considering doing the same on my trailer, yet despite the camera being waterproof (ip97), I don't fully trust that rating, and having it last for a long time due to repeatedly boat launches.

Now I'm considering installing the back up camera on the transom of my boat for not only towing purposes, but also using the camera as a replacement for a mirror setup. I plan on using my boat for wakeboarding and I think this could be a whole lot better than the mirror setup I currently use.

Has anyone else done this on their boat? Are you happy with it?
