Question Boat Trailer Frame Steps

Does anyone have the Ezee Step on their boat? Looks like a great way to get up and down from your boat.

    Hi Douglas,

I like it! There are times when it's easier or more convenient to go in from the front, but unfortunately, this setup looks a little low for getting over the top of Mariahs larger than, say 18 or 19ft due to the our high freeboards... Maybe they have different models to accommodate this?

The trailer our Mariah was sitting on when we got her had a kind of ladder wielded to the Bow winch bracket and while it worked well, you needed a good sense of balance near the top, especially when trying to get down ... so when we replaced the trailer, I went with a system used for catamarans, a set of steps w/hand rail. I'm sure a similar system could be installed on almost any trailer.

    Default Trailer Boat Steps

My wife likes the steps you have on your trailer. Looks like a safer way of entering and exiting from the boat. I have been looking for those steps on line. But can't find them anywhere. Where they made for your trailer or bought from a Catamaran Dealer?

    Hi Douglas,

It was an option from the company that made our trailer, "Pacific Boat Trailers". I requested it installed after seeing it used on a V-hull boat on their gallery. the shop where mine was installed was surprised as they had only installed them on "Cat" trailers.

Here's a link to their web site: Click Here, watch the banner pictures on the main page, as they change, you'll see a huge Scaraa off-shore racer on a triple trailer, it has a bow step. Go to their "Gallery" and click on the "Wielded-Aluminum Trailer" pics and go to the seventh slide to get a look at the U-Bolt mount.

I'm sure it can be attached to other trailers as it uses two U-bolts to clamp to the
frame. Another neat feature they have is a side ladder that replaces the rear upright of the optional side load guide bunks.
