Default newbie question

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and have found it very helpful. I have a question for you guys, I have been looking around for boats lately and came across a pretty nice 2007 mariah sx 19 for $13000. I was kind of worried at first because I have never heard of this brand but the guy said that they are not common around alabama, which is where I am from. Just wondering if that would be a good deal for this boat. you can tell it has been used a decent amount but not sure about the hours. I know it has a 4.3 mercruiser in it and a bimini top. I am really considering getting it but Just trying to get some advice and would like to know the quality of this boat.

Thanks!

    riverman ,
    Welcome to MOC!
I am not up on the newer Mariahs to much. However , they are a well made boat. Some of the Sea Fox Mariah owners are sure to pipe in with help.
If you could give us some pics and more info it would help a lot.

    Once again......Welcome

I am in Alabama on Lake Martin and I have seen over 20 Mariah's on the lake any given weekend. I got to stop and talk with one last weekend. Mine is a 93 and his is a 96. We both enjoyed talking.

Welcome aboard! If you do a site search for "SX19" you'll find a number of threads on those boats along with some opinions on what they are like.

Riverman, i have an 06 SX21 and love it. So far all I have had to do is yearly maintenance, and boat looks and runs great. Without some pics of the boat your wanting, i can't tell you too much. The biggest thing is finding out if the previous owner did maintenance, or just ran the crapt out of it. If it looks really worn, chances are it was not maintained well. Mine still looks like it did when I purhased it, and I run it almost every weekend. Hope this helps some, good luck.

This might help you get an idea---> 2007 Mariah Boat Co SX 19/BR Standard Equipment, Boat Value, Boat Price & Craft Specs | NADAguides

If you want to look up the blue book info on the 2002+ newer Mariahs you have to look under "Mariah Boat Co" and NOT "Mariah Boat Inc.".

I have a 2004 SC21 with the 4.3. I like it. It is pretty efficient on fuel and still has the power to ski/wakeboard with about 4-5 people onboard and a decent amount of fuel in the tank. Im also at 5000' of elevation where as you are at basically sea level. Your performance will be much better down there.
The only thing that I noticed about the SX/SC models that should have had more attention from Sea Fox/Mariah when making them would be the rear hatch to the engine compartment. It is only supported on the sides and not in the middle. Mine started to sag in the middle because of this. Ill be fixing this over the summer if I do not sell if first. The only other thing I have noticed is the gel coat has some spidering to it on the exterior of the boat. It has occurred around the windshield frame and at a few other odd ball places. Other than that it appears and rides solid.
