Default 2005 Mariah SX18

Hello All!

I recently just purchased a Mariah 2005 SX18 3.0L MercCruiser. I have been reading mixed reviews about the 3.0L and whether or not it has enough power. I test drove the boat and it seemed to be fine but now I'm a little worried about towing (wakeboarding, skiing, tubing) .A lot of people say its about seating but I need some opinions.. So my question is to any owners that have the same boat: what kind of performance do you get out of this boat? And do you have a wakeboard tower? If so does that help at all?

Also, does anyone know where I can get an extended swim platform?! Thanks!!

I got my swimplatform from Mountain Marine in Colorado, (swimplatformsuperstore.com). Kelly is great to work with. They were a few hundred $$ less expensive than swimplatforms.com in Arizona. Mine had 4 support poles instead of just 2 and they matched my red color and included a ladder.

A swim platform is indeed a nice addon. Shortly after I purchased my boat I went back to the dealer and had him order one from Mariah. It matches well and has the company logo molded in. It was a little pricey but kept the boat all Mariah

Guess you had that option. Us "Original" (2001 and older) Mariah owners don't. Either way, swimdecks are nice.

Actually rayzorback, you might be surprised that the OEM Sea Fox Mariah swim platform could have fit your boat. They used the original Mariah molds up to 2009 on the small boats, and still used the old molds up until 2010 on the SC, SX, and G lines (except G270 cruiser). They redesigned the smaller boat line with new molds in 2009 with the introduction of the "R" line, which I think may possibly stand for "redesigned"

I really like the Sea Fox Mariah molded swim platform, and if I had the $$, I'd definitely put one on mine! Hey maybe we could get a group buy discount going? LOL

    Cool Re: 2005 Mariah SX18

We had a 2005 sx18 with the big 4 cyl. before upgrading to the sx21 and it had plenty of power. It pulled a tube with my daughter and friends, and I ski'd behind it at 215 lbs. It was our first boat, and i could keep up with our friends sea ray v6. It was actually like a sports car.
