Hi there!

Sadly enough, my engine cracked due the coldness this year
First I was thinking of selling my Mariah because of that, but I already miss her when I am thinking about the idea..

So I was looking around for an engine which could replace the "old" one, 'till I noticed a nice Mercruiser MPI 4.3 last week.

Do you guys think this will fit under the hood of my Mariah SX18 (2005) ? And if so, would she be overpowered or would it be just more fun?

It has the 3.0 now? The motor mounts are different so if they don't offer the 4.3 as an option in that hull you'd have to construct the mounts on the stringers.
As far as the drive, the Alpha One will do fine with 220 hp but you'd gear it differently than it is behind the 3.0.

Right now I have a Mercruiser 4.3 V6 190 HP, but if I understood you well; these mounts DO fit a MPI engine?

Right. It's the same block. The MPI (multi-port injection) is just the fuel injected version of your motor, which sounds like it's an LX.

The block is indeed the same. However, the fuel pump and probably fuel line would also need to be changed (no real biggie)... Also don't forget about getting a CPU for the MPI engine....
