Default 2008 sc23 5L

I'am just about to complete the purchase of my first boat a 2008 sc23 5L mercruiser. I know this is probably a little late but can anyone shed any light on the fuel consumption of this boat.

i have a 2008 23sc as well... great boat.. as far as gas mileage goes, it has about a 60 gallon tank.. it will cost you about 130+ dollars to fill up but will last you many trips.. nice purchase!

just curious what you paid for it??

I bought a 2007 SC23 with same engine and this is my second "summer" with it. Got good use this year and have found it quite economical. Cruising at around 3000 rpm (22-24mph) using about 4 mpg by my calculations. Best price around Bangor £1.12 per litre (marina £1.30plus; daylight robbery!). Building up good arm muscles carrying Jerry cans!

Big son doing some skiing now which increases consumption slightly but big engine pulls him easily.

I think it is a great boat so hope you enjoy!

Don't really buy Mariah bits and pieces. Normal mercruiser parts are bought by the guy that services it. I am very lucky he is really good and much cheaper than the dealers.

I need new canvas covers made as the originals are not suited to the Northern Ireland climate. I am just going to get them priced by 3 local firms who make bespoke covers and take the one that suits best. No point in getting Mariah to send the proper ones as you could spit through them!

I bought my boat 2 years ago with 122 hrs on it on good 4 wheel trailer, no GPS or fishfinder (which I have recently bought) cost £22k. Thought it was good value at the time.
