Default Water in ski locker

I have a 1990 2000Z and I got some water in the ski locker that will not drain. I have read all the posts and places to look for leaks because I do get more water in the boat then I should, but the ski locker and little ice chest just behind it do not drain like they should. I have taken a 3 foot zip tie and pushed it down the drain hole towards the stern to try and clear something out but that did not help at all. Yesterday was our 2nd trip to the lake with this boat and I noticed some dead leaves and other crud coming out when I pulled the plug, so this morning I had the great idea to take a garden hose and just run some water through the boat. I have the bow raised way up high so that should not be an issue. Is there any reason why that water would not just be rushing out the back? I am suspecting some sort of a blockage under the fuel tank.

    For sure jet.
They are notorious for clogging up.
I have used one of those dryer lint cleaners with good results before.
Might even try using a 1/2" drive long extension if it's really stubborn.

Is it just a straight tube from the ski locker under the fuel tank to the engine compartment?

Yes it runs right down the centerline of the keel.

Thumbs up Re: Water in ski locker

Thanks I will have to go get a dryer cleaner and give it a good cleaning! I checked it about an hour or so ago and it is draining, just slowly! Thanks for the tip!

Not sure it's connected. BUT... You need to get your ski locker and cooler where they drain freely. The 95's still used wood in the floors and if that water sets there long enough it could saturate the wood and ultimately the foamed in compartments that are under your floor on either side of the fuel tank, cooler, and ski locker and result in rot issues later. I have to raise the front of my boat very high to get it to drain thoroughly. Higher than the trailer jack alone will get it.

I have a Talari 210 and the water in my ski locker would not drain. I took a hole saw that makes a hole big enough for a kitchen drain and cut one in the cooler behind the ski locker. This gave me access to the bottom of the bulkhead at the front of the gas tank. i found what looks like a 3 inch pipe that had been fiberglassed over and the end was fiberglasses as well. This appears to be some sort of optional drain entry. I plan on drilling a hole into it to see if it is hollow. If so I will open it up and solve the drainage to the rear of the boat. Then I will just silicone in a kitchen drain setup. Hope this helps someone.
