just reading through some mariah comments, and I must say that i have owned many boats from gloucester to tampa and I have found the 240z talari I have owned for the last ten years to be probably the best built boat in that size range . Its a 95 and more than once while anchoring up on the sandbars around tampa bay it has been mistaken for new, hence probably the takeoff on the porsche logo, pure quality, small boat luxery, tons of power and sea handling. i almost thought of moving up last year and thought better of it, with only 400 hrs I should get another ten easy. keep it trailered, serviced and covered and you'll never go wrong with these boats....JM

That Z252 is beautiful. I talked to them and got some pics. It's super clean. Living in a small town is a serious handicap though. It'll cost me about $600 one-way to get to St Louis for me and the first mate on short notice. I can pick up a rental truck and drag it home. I'm picky, if for some reason I don't like the boat or we drop it in the water and it sticks in reverse pulling it off the trailer, then I have to buy another ticket to get home.....ouch. Tack that cost onto the next boat. It's pricey to fly to the midwest. I need to find something in a four corners state or Texas that I can jump in the truck and go see.

So, you guys that financed, tell me your story. How did the transaction work? I paid cash last time but I'm going bigger so I may finance some. I liked a newer Tige towboat in Arizona so I stopped by the local bank the other day to see what they could do for me. They said "Your credit's great, your income's great. We'd be happy to loan you some money". They are hardly agile though. It took them three days to let me know that and only when I stopped in to sit in front of them. Being a small town bank, they want me to bring them a lien free title before they'll cut a check. I guess it's time to go see a big bank. Did your bank send funds before you delivered a title?

Consider a line of credit short term and then turn into boat loan later.
