As I guy who has done 3 of these in three different Mariah Boats (2 '99s and 1 '00) I can tell you that if you can find an adapter; you are a better man than I. I've looked all over for them. That being said, the wires in all 3 applications that I've done have all matched up perfectly with color. --All you'll need is the (+) and (-) for each of the 4 speakers (these will be purple, green, gray, and white) the constant hot (typically yellow) the power (red) and the ground (black.) If you have a "Z" package with a power antenna or are running an amp, then you have a couple more wires to hook up, but its no biggie.
Having said all that, when you do cut and splice the wires, spend the extra money to get the waterproof "heat and shrink" style connectors -- they are not cheap, but well worth the extra dough as water tends to get in the bottom of you hull, and can splash up to the back of your stereo -- ask me how I know.
I will also tell you to possibly look at JBL Marine's CD player line. They have a coupler that plugged right into one of the Mariah's that I did...easy and simple. JBL must buy their parts from the same supplier that Mariah's audio division did? Don't quote me on it, but its worth a look.
Good luck. And remember, if you're unsure of anything, definitely ask your local mobile audio shop -- those guys are usually really helpful and nothing spoils a good day on the water like a stereo thats cutting out or doesn't work.
