Well it time to get some canvas work done on the Talari, so after recouping from the holidays, it's off to the shop to have a Bow Cover and Windshield Guard installed.

Does anyone know what the going price is for a Custom Bow Cover in Navy Blue Sunbrella including all the SS Snaps to the windshield and deck?

After calling around the area, the best price I could find was about $250 + tax so does this seem fair because I am looking to have more work done by this company?

That sounds like a fair price. Actually that's pretty cheap too, especially with Sunbrella. When I had my cockpit cover done, it cost over $700! Of course, that was in-season though... My canvas guy told me every canvas shop is begging for work during the winter months, so they price everything lower! I say go for it!

Tis a decent price. I pd $250 to have mine done in the same material in July.

Thanks guy, I really appreciate the quick response!

Now I feel confident I'm getting a fair price so I'm heading over to the canvas shop today to go over some final details about the Bow cover and Windshield Towing Guard.

Also going to have them repair one of my boat covers in preparation of a solar vent/ battery charger system to keep everything inside dry and juiced up during the wet months because right now, she's an outdoor trailer queen during the off season.

Well, I had the Bow Cover and Windshield trailering protector made. Here's how they look.



The windshield protector has dense 1/2" foam sewn in with Sunbrella on the outside and Car Cover material against the glass for the front and just Sunbrella on the sides. The top edge has Gypsy snaps so a canopy cover can be attached later.

Total cost including tax was a little over 5 bills for both, but I feel it was well worth it.

Now I have a little more piece of mind when trailering, I won’t be worrying as much about the windshield getting damaged as I believe this would be one of the most difficult parts to replace.

Yep, she looks good! The one thing i did differently with mine was that i extended the cockpit/windshield portion down so it actually attachs to the bow cover with a zipper & velcro. That way the rain water doesnt sneak into the bow thru the opening and if i'm pulling the boat in the rain, the wind doesnt force water up underneath the windshield opening etc. I saw it done on a Glastron & the owner said it worked great.
