Default All-Round Light

How tall of a replacement all-round light do I need to get? There wasn't one on the boat when I bought it, so I don't know how tall the original one was. I just got a 94' Z240 Talari which doesn't have the retractable pole (which would be kind of cool). Can I install retractable one, and how hard would it be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pod

The stern light is a white light placed as near as is practicable at the stern. The light shines in an arc of 135 degrees. must be higher then anything behind it.

The rear electric pop up lights can be purchase just about anywhere. it requires a power source, and you already have one there.

135 degrees? If you're less than 39.4' you have to display white light that can be seen from all around (360 degrees) and it's technically supposed to be at least 3.3' higher than your colored lights where seen from the front and sides.

    See figures 1, 2, and 3:

Thanks. So what I'm trying to figure out is if a 42" pole is going to be tall enough to get me over the 3.3'. I'm having a hard time judging exactly how much higher the bow of the boat is over the stern.

I can't imagine you'd have any issues with that. As long as it can easily be seen all the way around I really doubt anyone is going to break out a tape measure.

Thanks Dredd. That's kind of what I was thinking. Appreciate the help!
