Arrow 1996 209 Talari

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the club and hopefully new to a 1996 209 Talari. I'm sure if ask what you think about them I'll get unbias opinions It is a beautiful boat, I think it has more character than ANY of the other boats I have looked at. So anyone have an honest opinion? This will be our third boat. First two Bayliners, a 1989 16' Capri w/85 hp Force (junk), had two seasons. The other 00' 21' Capri openbow, sold after 1 season (hated the ride). Any info or oppinions would be great.

There is no comparison between a dammed Bayliner and a Mariah.... and that's my unbiased opinion.

Been there, and now am here. have had three of the B words, the bigger they were the better they were, but you will definitely see the difference quickly in this well made boat. Also had a 24' Four Winns, loved that boat, but the Mariah is a special vessel.

Have you bought it or are you still looking, and what can we help clarify?

MC25, we looked a a lot of little boats before we found our '94 182 Barchetta. I can honestly say that there were only a couple other manufacturers' boats that we felt were a cut about the crowd (older Glastron, for example), and only one other boat that impressed us as much as Mariah (Stingray).

We had some of Shazaam!'s upholstery redone winter-before-last. The guy who did it was quite impressed with the quality of the material he was replacing. Everything throughout the boat seems well-done.

We boat on a pretty big lake: Lake St. Clair, which is really just a big ol' bump in the straights between the Great Lakes Huron and Erie. Between the powerboat traffic (we get some BIG powerboats on LSC) and the wind, 1 foot of waves/chop is pretty average, and 2' is not uncommon. That little 18' boat handles it gracefully.

What can I say? We love our "little boat"

    Jim

Hope you bought it, I am the proof new owner of the same model 96 Talarin 209. I've had it for just over a month now and have taken out 6 times already! This is an awesome boat and my family and I absolutely love it.

Let us know if you got yours.
