Default Z302 Shore Power Connection

How can you make the outlet in the back of the boat connect to shore power? We can only use the one on the side and it is on the opposite side of the post. Is there a particular adaptor that can be used for the back?

I have no idea what either of those questions mean. The one what? On the opposite side of what post? The back of what?

The plug on the transom of the boat is a 3-prong 110v AC plug that is specifically for the battery charger. You can't use it to power the shorepower system.

You could have the battery charger wired into your shorepower system, if you wanted to eliminate the rear plug in port (and the need for 2 different cords). But I will recommend having it done by a professional marine electrician. Boating electrical systems can get rather complicated and can cause many hazards and damage if not done properly.

However if you want to not use the shorepower hookup port on the boat, there is an adapter you can buy to convert shorepower to a standard 3 prong hookup. I use one for mine, since my boat doesn't have shorepower. This is what it looks like, it plugs right into my dock hookup, and I just use a long insulated extension cord to connect it to the battery charger port on the transom.

They're available at West Marine or any other boating retailer. Hope this helps.

I dont know. I didnt do it. I can tell you that when either plug in are connected to 115v the other is hot too.

I have not tried to use the micro with the rear connection only, but I would figure it could handle a 20a connection just fine.
