1995 182 Barchetta wiring

I recently bought this boat along with a lake house. I replaced the bilge pump and everything was working fine, until I had to reconnect the wiring bundle. Now the bilge pump will not turn on and neither will the blower and when I turn any of the first three switches on the panel, all three lights on the switches come on. Other electrical functions work fine and the starter works fine. Also the fuel gage needle jumps back and forth (this was happening before the other problem)

Sounds like you got some real electrical issues there and it sounds like someone has done a little hatchet work with the wiring. We do have wiring schematics & harness diagrams available to contributing members. Clicking on the FAQ's will get you that info. I also suspect that you've got some corrosion problems & the only way to solve that is to take connections apart and clean them.

Same thing goes for the fuel gauge. Take the connections apart at the sender unit (do it carefully because they can be fragile) then clean & reconnect. If it still bounces around one of our members posted a DIY electrical fix for the problem. You can read about that fix here.

Could be a ground problem. Check your grounds. There should be a ground block on the starboard side of the transom behind the battery. I had major problems with my 1996. I replaced alot of wiring.

I responded privately to both of the responders, Thanks for the help. I did find that the problem was in the grounding block. Nearly every wire was loose ans some were touching. I tightened the nuts on the block and now everything works fine. Thanks again!
