Default i don't know what i'm doing

Hello all, I have a couple of questions that may seem rediculous but I just don't know what I'm doing. I aquired a 1996 shabah last Dec. and haven't used it as of yet. My first question is about the trailering switch on the throttle lever, well it doesn't trim up. The other trim switch works but I don't even here the motor rev. on the trailer switch and the lower unit appears to be all the way down. Could it be a fuse or fluid level issue, I suppose these are first to be checked but I don't know where the fuse is located.
My second issue is that the storage for skis is full of water and I cannot figure out how to drain it, the bilge pump I have is in the engine compartment but that is a separate area it seems. Does anyone know how to drain it? Thanks

Hi Dave, I just joined this site a few minutes ago, but noticed your message. I had the same problem with my trailer trim. My boat is a Talari, but probably similar. There should be a separate trailer trim "button" which is basically a smooth area of rubber on the bottom right corner (not on the throttle) You need to push this VERY hard...to the point of hurting your thumb, or use the handle of a screwdriver or something. If you're pushing hard enough, you'll hear the trim motor working. As far as the storage compartment, there should be a drain on the floor that needs to be cleared to allow the water to flow back to the engine compartment. Then your bilge will pump everything out. Hope this helps.

I've been a Mariah owner for only one week, but I'll try to help. I have a 1995 Z202 by the way.

The trim button is very hard to push as rrpowell031 said. If it really isn't working, maybe it's a bad switch. Do you have the trim switch on the swim platform? You could just trim up with the normal switch, then as you hop out of the boat, trim the rest of the way up with that until you figure out if it's a switch or not.

Check to see that the drain between the ski storage locker and the bilge area is not blocked with debris! There are two buttons for trim/tilt. The button on the handle is for trim, the one at the bottom right of the shifter unit is for tilt up. Mine isn't that hard to push..

    What mikeyt said.

If your trim up isn't working but your trailering button is, you may need a new trim limit switch: Replacing Your Trim Limit and Trim Position Senders

Boy, lots of trim/tilt problem questions here today.
