hi members.-i have a 2200z with accu-trim tabs. i can't activate them. I think there is some kind of air bag or something that should activate the tabs all i see at the back of the tabs is a air line and nothing else-how would this work?

Hi jtatum66, I got to say, you have the most unusual Trim Tabs I've ever heard of, kind of a water and air combination using a bladder between the tab halves.

I Googled them and got very little info back, so here's what I got:

1) A member on a Boston Whaler forum stated they are/were (?) made in Sweden, but I can't seem to verify if this is correct, let alone if they're still in business (I tried several Swedish business directories with out any luck).

2) According to this particular write-up (dated back in 2000), it seems like you're missing the control levers and associated hardware connecting the controls to the tabs. This particular owner went with the Accu-Trim Tabs for the cost savings, but later in the story, he changed them over to Bennett Tabs. Click on these links and read how the Accu Trim Tabs are supposed to work and then later why he changed them out.

If you're going to stay with Trim Tabs, I recommend replacing them with Smart Tabs (if they have a model for your hull size) otherwise, Bennett or Boat Leveler Co. Tabs for hydraulic or Lenco for pure electric.
