Wow, WOT for one hour, how big is your body of water difran25??

Anyway, The 5.7l Carbed and the 260HP injected models are designed to run between 4400 - 4800 RPM at WOT so 4600 is right in there.

The 5.7 is pretty tough and so is the outdrive, but I personally don't recommend you run flat out for that long of a time. Like anything else, it will reduce the working life of the machinery and if there are any weaknesses in any of the parts, putting them under that strain for an extended period of time may cause them to fail prematurely.

    So there's my 0.02 worth,

WOT for a full hour? Man, you must have deep pockets...

@Willy two words: Great Lakes. Like this shot of where I boat. Straight out, it's 80 miles to the other side.

My WOT rpm is 4600 as well, and on occassion I've run that continuously for about 20 mins, but it just drinks the gas like a 5yr old sucks up Kool-Aid.

I usually cruise around 3200 rpm, gets much better fuel econonmy (if there is such a thing in powerboating...) and my engine thanks me for it.

I thought you were supposed to "drive it like you stole it".

Oh yeah that's what they say about Powerstrokes.

I once used 3 full tanks of fuel in one day on Lake Texoma. It isn't one of the great lakes but you sure wouldn't know it if your out there when a storm blows in from Okiehoma. Man it looks like an ocean when those waves get to rolling down the long runs.

Hey Z 202, thanks for zapping me back to reality, I keep forgetting the Great Lakes are landlocked mini oceans. 80 miles across, that would definitely take a DEEEP pocket!

OMG 94z190talari, I know Lake Texoma is huge too, but, how do you eat up 90 gallons of fuel with a V6 in one day??

Drove from the dam all the way up into the river on the far end and up into the Wash-ita arm all the way exploring. Of course I didn't do it very slowly and I did several trips back and forth. Didn't sit still much all day except to get wet again to activate the 50mph a/c

So why doesn't this thing like Okiehoma river names (wash ita)?
