Default Very rough idle

My boat has started to have what I call a very rough idle lately. When I start it, the engine feels like it is jumping and shakes the hole boat. It then stops and runs fine until turned off and started again. Also, sometimes when I turn it off, the engine tries to keep running a little. Can someone give me an idea what this might be?
thanks

These two symptoms, combined, lead me to suspect you're running too lean at idle.
