Default Putting carpet in my Shabah

I am putting some carpet down in my 258 Shabah. Have the carpet in place but wondering about what kind of snaps to use. I found some nickel plated copper, want to make sure they don't rust. Wondering how far apart to put them?

Thanks.

Do you have snaps installed already? I had carpets made for my boat this year, and my carpet guy recommended this thick backing called "aqualok" put on the back (about 1/2" thick), it's the same stuff they use on Fountain boats, it's guaranteed to stay down with no snaps up to 70mph.

Does your carpet have a thick rubberized backing? If so, you might want to just give it a quick try without the snaps. Otherwise if you're going to install the snaps yourself, I say probably about every 10-12 inches. More in the curves and high traffic areas.

Thanks Chris. I was putting some cheap stuff down until I could get something done this winter. I will look for the aqualock.
