I was told by a dealer that NADA for boats is not very close to pricing. But this was from a salesman.
NADA for cars is updated weekly and they have access to the wholesale auction houses to see whats getting sold and for what price along with the countless dealers.
NADA for boats is only updated every quarter, 90 days. Plus there isn't the volume of boats getting sold like cars. There aren't any large marine auction places.
Made sense but it came from a used car/boat saleman.
NADA for this boat was I think 5800.00 which is less than what a cheap Bayliner is selling for. Basically I just compated all 18' boats from 1997-2000 from quality manufactors and then the new cheap bayliners. So I offered a price based on that overall sales of 18' boats. I'll pay bayliner prices for a quality Mariah!
