Default Sad Day!!!

Yesterday while my wife was pulling our 94 Talari home. The engine compartment may have been open a smidge and must have caught a gust of wind and ripped the acuators off the wall mounts and peeled the engine deck all the way back 180 degrees. I guess I am lucky it did not come all the way off, it was still held on by three screws. That is until I tried to pull it back into position. While doing that the last three screw points failed. The hinge bracket is bent to a point of non repair I think. Does anyone know where I could find a replacement hinge. Or have an alternative idea to get my deck reattached. Also to add insult to injury I lost the left head rest that connects to the engine deck. So is that something that can be found out there anywhere. Or am I looking at replacing it with something I build and have reupholstered to look as close as the others. Thanks for any help or suggestions you guys can give me.

A sad day indeed,

Shawn Walsh

    Hello Shawn Walsh,

Sad to hear about your sunpad and head rest!

I was always worried about the same thing happening but I discovered a set of snap straps attached to the front of our pad to lock it down.

Replacement hinges are available, just remember to replace them with Stainless Steel ones or they'll rust. If you need help in locating a new hinge, post a picture of your old one with it's measurements and I'll see what I can do.

As for the head rest, that was an in-house item so I'm sorry to say that you'll need to have one made up.

    Bummer
I lost a front headrest while towing my Mariah home from North Carolina.
I'm having a new one fabed up at the upholstery shop.
I seen some SS piano hinges on ebay last week.
    good luck.
