Finaly got the Talari on the Lake !

Boat set up
1. 7.4L mpi
2. PROP = Merc high 5 48-815760 21P
3. Full tank of fuel
4. 2 people in boat, no gear

Findings
1. hole shot, WOW !
2. oil presure at cruise 40psi
3. engine temp at cruise 175 F
4. top speed at full throttle 41 mph ( GPS )
5. RPM at full throttle 3100 ( something wrong here )
6. speedometer, inoperable
7. trim up, inoperable, trim down works
8. fuel gage needle moves back and forth, must install capacitor

Comments? I love this boat, she goes to the shop for the minor fixes this week. The prop I don't much care for, would prefer speed over hole shot. any suggestions? I have posted two short videos on youtube, not sure how to post the links, but if you search z 241 talari it should pop up. One last thing, I made one run down the lake with the captains call exhaust open, INCREDIBLE ! had to stay in the middle of the lake to aviod being struck by alarm clocks and shoes.

Oh WoW! Your 241 sound sooo good! I just might have to invest in a set of pipes too!

Interesting, 41 per the GPS...and from the video (pretty cool), it definitely looks like you're propped for the hole shot and not top end, but what a hole shot it is! If you're doing a lot of wake boarding and tubing then it should be fine.

With the Bravo III and 28P props, we're hitting 51 (GPS) around 4700 - 4800rpm with three adults, one kid, 3/4 tank and all our water toys and gear aboard, but the take-off is a bit slower that yours.

If you haven't yet, do a search for a couple of suggestions for fixing the speedo and tach and I know you'll have them working in no time. Looks like the only real issue left is the trim, that may require shop work if the sensors require replacing.

Well summer's coming so get out there, open them pipes and start collecting alarm clockls and shoes!
