Re: what is this gage?
Is your's a Z model? If so, the red rectangle is the mark VIII trip computer water/air temp gizmo. Search for posts by rjobe. He has posted repair/calibration advice on here.
The Faria gauges are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. For a nominal cost you can send them to Faria, and they'll send you replacement.
The gauges themselves may not be to blame though. The tach has a cylinder # switch on the back that sometimes gets corroded. Switch it back an fortha few times and return it to the correct postion and see if it works. The speedo could be a plugged pickup. There is a very small hole in the leading edge of the drive, if it gets clogged the speedo won't work properly or at all. The sender for the trim gauge could also broken, which would explain the inoperative gauge. I think you'd want to check out those things before you start replacing gauges.
Check and clean the contacts on the rocker switches as well. You can get replacements, the link can be found in the Mariah Parts list sticky thread at the top of this forum.
