Question Help with hatch lift - Need PICs of brackets

The PO unhooked the hatch motor, removed the gas strut on the port side, and removed the bottom bracket that goes on the floor for the lift. So I took the lift, greased it up, and tested it with a car battery and voila, it works like a charm. The catch? Even in the fully extended position I can't see how it would ever open enough to be usable. I figure the floor bracket would need to be at least a foot tall to make this work. Does anyone have any PICs of their single lift setups? Were these supposed to open more than 6" - 8"??

I don't know if this will help at all, but here are a few pics I had of the lift and brackets...

Perfect! That is exactly what I was looking for. I was stumped at how low the motor was sitting, but seeing how that base bracket raise it almost a foot it all make sense now. (That's the part I'm missing.)

Now I just need to figure out where I can get those brackets...

Most likely those were made in-house at Mariah, so finding one will be next to impossible.
You could probably get one made at a local fabrication shop, if you had specific measurements.

I'm with you though, the PO removed the electric hatch from mine too, and all that's left is the wiring, and the 4 holes in the floor, so this helps me out too! Thanks indykoch!

I have a buddy who owns a machining / fabrication business. I'll send him pics and measurements and see what he can come up with. If you're interested I can see what it would take to make two at the same time.

Let me know if there are any other members that need them.

I'll try getting better pics of that bracket with a tape measure on it sometime in the next couple days. I'll also look up the lift motor manufacturer to see if they made them. I know Mariah made a lot in house, but this looks pretty standard and a perfect fit for the mechanism. I can't imagine the lift manufacturer didn't make the mounts for their lifts, but we'll see what I can find.

I sent emails off to the two most obvious choices in the parts section. I also found this while doing some googling:

    Might work...

    EDIT: Better pic.

SKF Motion Technologies is the OEM manufacturer of the linear actuators that Mariah used, (at least in the later models). I wonder if they'd be any help?

With Mariah making most of their parts internally, I wouldn't doubt they made the mount themselves. With the price of those bracket kits, I'm quite sure I understand why too... I'm sure your friend could fabricate one for much less!

Well I've exhausted all the potential OEM suppliers and now I'm in a time crunch to get this squared away. (I can't get my stereo installed to moor the boat until I have the bracket in place to measure for sub box clearance.

Is there any chance you've gotten those measurements yet? All I really need is:

    - Total height of the outer larger tube.

    - Total height of the entire unit collapsed.

    - Length of the travel slot.

    - Outer dimensions of the larger tube. (look's like 1.5" square).

With those measurement I'm sure my buddy can fab it up, and he'd be willing to make multiples if anyone else needs them.

    Thanks!

Sorry, I had to travel for work and totally spaced that I was going to do this. I'll get pics and measure Friday, but may not be able to post until Saturday.
