Some old school guys may jump on me and I was reluctant as well but we bought a Z245 last year with the 6.2mx in it and I love it. It has a couple more ponies than the standard 7.4 and the weight of the 5.7L. I put over 100hrs on it last year and it ran great. The fuel mileage was not far off the 5.7L 2 barrel I have in the 235 Davanti. The Bravo 3 is a great thing as well. We pulled three large tubes at once with five adults on them and it jumped right up on plane. I was shocked. The 5.7L would have been sucking wind to pull that off.

Now all the big block guys can jump in.......

I agree the 6.2L is the way to go.. If it has the power and the torque the lower displacement will save you some cake.. It is also a newer designed enginer. The 454 (7.3L) is old and has been around a long time..

From someone who's got a 7.4L, I say go with the 6.2L. It's a newer engine, designed for a balance of fuel economy and performance. The 6.2 weighs a bit less, and takes up less space as well. The 7.4L engine is a gas hungry torque monster, and was a standard with Mercruiser for a long while. However they stopped producing the engine years ago and now recommend the 6.2L for it's replacement. Go for the 6.2L.

    hi,

thanks for your help.i have thought that maybe the bigger engine in couse ot the torque would be the better choice.

i think i will have a look at bouth boats and if possible make a test ride.

but a boat is not only an angine,so i will chek them bouth and buy the better one.

so long next week i can tell you more
