I also have a 1994 Barchetta 182, and I saw that you have the bimini top that I would like to have. Mine snaps onto the windshield and is really only good for really slow speeds, and it hards to walk around the cabin. Anyhow, where did you get your Top at?

I always thought what you are describing is called a convertible top. I thought a bimini top was suspended by poles with straps at the front and rear keeping it up. Every boat I ever had with a top snapped to the windshield had a more stable top at speeds than a true bimini but as you say, a snap to windshield top gives much less headroom. Overton's is a source for the bimini top. Something is wrong with your convertible top set-up if it is unstable at reasonable speeds.
