Default Digital display issue

Hello group,

I was wondering if anybody had some insight as to how accurate the water/air temp displays are in the original Mariah's. I have a 96' Z210 which is in great original condition.
I did replace the original cassette with a single cd head unit and made a new faceplate for the radio at the same time. The original display unit was removed & transfered to the new face and the switches were reinstalled in a similiar position.
The faceplate was covered in a vinyl material that looks like carbon fiber which offsets the bright finish of the head unit nicely.
Anyway, before all this was done the display was fairly accurate as far as the air & water temp, maybe within 5 degree's, usually to the high side I think.
I know for sure that the air temp is 10 degree's higher than actual and the water temp is off as well probably the same.
Whats everybody else see with these units as far as accuracy goes? Is there any way to adjust for a more correct readout??
I think I wired everything correctly when reinstalled, but I'm not totally sure. Also I have the owners manual which I believe has the complete wiring diagram for the whole boat, But it's a bit over my head trying to read it (let alone SEE it-the print is SMALL).
Any thoughts from the group would be appreciated.

Thank You!!

I can't find it right now, but it seems that I remember reading on here that the temp gauge has a calibration screw on the back of it.

I might be totally off my rocker too, but that's the way the memory works
