Default Mariah construction?

Hi guys, while my search for a mariah continues, some guys at work were asking me if the hull constuction methods on mariahs are similar to what's used on higher end boats.....they were talking about not using wood in the core and transom (but if it was used it should be vacuum bagged or something like that)...
they also asked if mariahs were built using chopper guns, apparently that is a very baylineresque method of mass production....I have no idea to the answer of these questions, can someone here chime in? Thanks for any input!

    Hi kielbasa,

I would say Mariah's hull construction easily exceeded some of the higher end boats. Mariah did not use chopper guns, the hulls were hand laminated and foamed for strength and flotation. Prior to 98, wood was a standard building material in boats and Mariah was no different, yet... the wood stringers and transom was encapsulated in fiberglass.

Here's a cross section of the pre 98-99 constuction:

In the mean time, Mariah was developing a construction system that eliminated a large amount of wood needed for strength and in 98 they began to incorporated this new construction technique and it would become the standard from 99 on.

Here is a view of the new system:

So, as you can see, Mariahs are, as their motto states, "Built and Equipped Like No Other Boat In The World!".

So go ahead and share this with your friends at work, I'm sure they'll agree, Mariahs are really built!

If you're considering a Mariah, I highly recommend you become a contributing member, this would give you access to photos of the Mariah plant and what went into the construction of a Mariah. You know what they say, "Seeing is believing!". So if you're interested, click here.

I am not sure it has been covered with you but at miriahboats.com they have a video of how the boat is constructed from start to finish, when we bought our 09' the video is what sold the boat.

The construction of the new Mariah boats isn't quite as 'robust' as the original versions but the new ones are still very good boats!
