Default 4.3L choke for 4V carb

I have a 94 z192 with the 4.3L LX mercruiser engine. It has the 4bbl carb (carter AFB), which I assume is original. It has the divorced choke which mounts on the intake. The choke spring needs to be replaced, but is obsolete. I have never been a hug fan of this style of choke anyway. I am wondering if anyone knows if the electric choke conversion they sell for Edelbrock carbs would work on a marine application? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
