Default Another Trailer thread.

Instead of Hijacking a thread, here's my latest experience with our Prestige trailer. Someone mentioned to check around the holes in the bottom near the axle, well this is what happens when you don't find it first. Had a mishap when I was forced off the inside of a turn at Norris Lake, maybe 10-15 mph, tire hit a driveway and launched the trailer a couple of feet in the air. Didn't know I was off the road until I felt the hit and saw it in the air. Bent the bunk support, bent the wheel, bent the main frame. While repairing, found the other side was cracked, so fixed it at the same time. Also, when we bought this boat, it already had plates welded up by the hitch. So add this to your pre-trip!

    Unfortunate mishap.

I think I see the axle and torsion mounting bracket. It looks like the damage occurred directly behind the bracket on the bottom side and the cross brace behind the axle. If so it would best if you can also reinforcement across the bracket area but I guess it would have to go to the outside since the cross brace is in the way. Looks like you could run a plate behind the entire fender wheel where it wouldn't show.

I did, Just don't have pictures of it. Didn't think I'd ever use the pics for anything until I was reading that other post!
