The original Mariah dashes were injection blow-molded in house.... I am not sure about the later SeaFox Mariahs.... you could call them in South Carolina.

Still on the fence about what boat to buy. The 01 crown is $1800 under nada value. The 01 212 is at nada value. The bigger motor and tandem trailer are the big draw pionts. The look and value of the crown is the draw there. I know the Mariah is better maintained. Its spent it's life in the same lake. Worked on by the same guy. Both trailers need tires. What are your thoughts?

Get the Mariah and then I would get a full cover made of Sunbrella from RNR.

We've been so happy with our little bit smaller Mariah's build quality and a good full cover is the best investment I've made for it.

May be a little biased here, but remember you're on a Mariah site...

My advice to you is buy the Mariah. Not knocking Crownlines at all, but in terms of the quality of build there is NOTHING close to an original (pre Seafox) Mariah. You will not be disappointed. Parts availability can be difficult at times, but with this group here nothing is impossible.

My friend is testing a boat today in Knoxville. He lives in Michigan. He will wait to list his boat until Thursday, after we test the crown. I thought our wss a little odd that his tandem trailer only had brakes on the front axle.

I think it is common for tandem trailers to only have brakes on one axle. Keeps the cost down but still HAS brakes as some places may require on trailer over a certain weight. I think when brakes are "required" there is no standard as to the capability.

Mine only has surge breaks on the front axle as well. Different breaks have different capacity. Some electric breaks are only good for 3500 lbs others 7000

My Diablo trailer is not the OE... the OE 'Prestige' (I think) trailer had NO brakes and I did not like that with our original tow vehicle. It also had a very short tongue. The dealer had a use for it and gave me a good enough credit I bought a salt water trailer for mine from Loadmaster. May not be as pretty or color matched like the original but it is still in great condition and I like having the surge brakes and long tongue which make it tow, stop and launch much better.
