Drain plug
We are new to owning a Mariah boat! With our other boats we always took out the drain plug out and never kept it in. We were told that the drain plug on the Mariah is hooked to a cable and if pulled will drain the oil in the engine. We don't like this feature on the drain plug and wasn't sure if anyone know if we could clip the plug off and the cable to the oil be fine?

Re: Drain plug
My 2000 z202 does not have that feature.

Re: Drain plug
Huh? Are we talking about the drain plug to the bilge? If your engine oil drains when you remove your bilge drain plug, you have bigger problems.
Seriously though, my Mariah has a drain plug (actually I have three... one for use and I keep two spares onboard) and there is no connection to the two.... nasty bilge water and engine oil. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Drain plug
Same here 99 202 shabah only have a water drain plug, no oil drain plug.

Re: Drain plug
There is a "cable" on my drain plug, but it is an electrical cable for the type of drain plug that has a light. No releasing anything.

Re: Drain plug
The light embedded in your drain plug is just the cost efficient way of having a stern mounted underwater light.
It has nothing to do with oil, bilge water, or the cost of tea in China. It's just supposed to be pretty to look at. |

Re: Drain plug
Never heard of this feature with Mariah at all, and I had a 2000 Z250LE previously. If you've got something like this, it wasn't anything that was done at the factory.
